FREEDOM in the STREETS!
Communities for Transportation Choice fights for your freedom to choose the appropriate mobility mode for your every trip. C.T.Choice focuses on increasing the viability rights of undervalued and environmentally friendly transportation modes, including, but not limited to: walking, bicycling, transit, carsharing, ridesharing, and taxi service.
C.T.Choice also supports selected portfolios and partnerships involving: smart growth, transportation equity, public participation in community/transportation planning processes, POD (pedestrian oriented development,) TOD (transit oriented development,) LID (low impact development,) TDM (transportation demand management,) mixed-use, multi-modal travel, public access, affordable housing, emotionally intelligent signage, traffic-calming, complete streets, outdoor living rooms, street furniture, safe routes to school, woonerfs, bicycle boulevards, cycletracks, sharrows, bicycle-sharing programs, bicycle access to transit, ciclovias, in-lieu fees for parking at private development, parking maximums, smart parking metering, return of local parking to local area improvements, and, in many cases, historic preservation.
C.T.Choice generally, but not categorically, opposes: street widening, highway/freeway expansion, increasing speed limits, incomplete crosswalk policies, and free parking.

C.T.Choice generally focuses on the transportation choice agenda in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, but does not rule out partnering with similarly aligned project partners in other regions.
C.T.Choice generally prioritizes projects, programs and campaigns in cities with populations of greater than two million.

C.T.Choice is an unincorporated association, with the intent of acting analogously to a non-profit for public good and/or educational purposes. C.T.Choice depends on the generousity of donors, sponsors, and the robust involvement of volunteers.
